Effective 20 September 2026
This policy explains what the PawSwing app collects, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It covers the app and the online service behind it. A purchase you make on pawswing.com is covered by the store's own privacy policy instead.
The short version: PawSwing collects what it needs to run your account, connect your device and answer your questions. There is no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting software in the app, we do not sell your data, and we do not collect your location.
PawSwing is operated by Pawswing Inc., a corporation registered in the State of Wyoming, United States, at 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801. We are the controller of the personal data described here.
For any privacy question, write to support@pawswing.com or use Support inside the app.
Your email address, which is needed to create an account and sign in. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the email address on that account and whether the provider has verified it. Optionally, a display name and a profile photo. We never receive or store a password: signing in uses a one-time code sent by email, or the provider's own sign-in.
We also keep a record of each sign-in session and each sign-in event, including the time, the IP address and the browser or app identification string of the request. These exist so you can be signed out everywhere, and so we can investigate a compromised account.
Anything you enter about a cat: name, photo, species, breed, sex, date of birth, whether it is spayed or neutered, and weight. All of it is optional and all of it is entered by you.
Which PawSwing devices are bound to your account, and for each one the model, serial number, hardware revision, firmware version, battery level and the time it last connected. Along with it, the grooming record the device itself keeps: when your cat entered and left, how long each visit lasted, the grooming plan you chose and how far through it the device is.
Which notifications you have turned on, and the notifications we have sent you, such as a low-battery alert or a completed plan day.
When you contact us: what you write, any photos or videos you attach, the category and status of the request, and our replies.
An installation identifier the app generates on first launch, along with the platform, app version, build number, language and time zone. This is what keeps your session valid across restarts and lets us tell which build a problem came from.
When you accept this policy or the User Agreement, we record which version you accepted, when, from which IP address and app version. This is our evidence that consent was given, and it is also what lets you withdraw it.
The app keeps a log of its Bluetooth activity on your phone, to make a connection fault diagnosable. In the version you install from an app store this log stays on your phone and is not sent to us. You can export it yourself and send it to us if support asks for it; if you do, we keep it for up to 30 days and then delete it.
We use your data to:
If you are in a place whose law asks us to name a legal basis, ours are: performing the agreement we have with you, for the parts that make the app work; your consent, which we ask for when you sign in and which you can withdraw; our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and free of abuse; and compliance with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
We use a small number of service providers to run the service. They act on our instructions only, and may not use your data for their own purposes:
If you sign in with Google or Apple, that provider authenticates you and tells us the email address on your account. What they do with the sign-in itself is governed by their own privacy policies.
We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public. If our business is sold or reorganised, account data may transfer with it; we will say so here before that changes how your data is used.
Our servers and our storage are in the United States. If you use PawSwing from outside the United States, your data is transferred there and processed there. Where the law of your country requires a transfer safeguard, we rely on standard contractual clauses with our providers.
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists.
When you delete your account, there is a seven-day recovery period, and then processing runs. After it, these are deleted permanently: your profile, your cat profiles and their photos, device bindings and grooming records, notifications and notification preferences, support requests, messages and attachments, your Google and Apple sign-in connections, and all sign-in sessions.
A small set of records is not deleted but is stripped of anything that identifies you, because we need to be able to show that something happened without knowing who it happened to:
Backups are rotated on a fixed schedule, so a copy of deleted data may remain in an encrypted backup until that backup expires.
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are held in the phone's own secure storage — Keychain on iOS, the Keystore-backed store on Android. Android's automatic backup is turned off for this app, so its stored data is not copied into your phone backup. Files we store are encrypted at rest. Access to production data is limited to the staff who need it, and staff actions in our admin console are recorded.
No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach affects your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authority where the law requires it.
Most of this is in the app, under Me:
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask us to restrict or stop a particular use of your data, to object to processing we base on our legitimate interests, to receive your data in a portable form, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. You can exercise all of them by writing to support@pawswing.com; we will answer within the time your law allows.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another place with an equivalent authority, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
PawSwing is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to support@pawswing.com and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. The current version is always the one published here, and its effective date is at the top. When a change materially affects how we use your data, we will make it visible in the app.
